Trippie Redd has grown tired of claims that he’s a devil worshiper, as the rapper recently reiterated his denial that he’s a disciple of Satan.
On Tuesday (Jan. 30), TMZ posted a video of the Ohio native vehemently refuting the assertion, arguing that his signature, all-black wardrobe isn’t indicative of his religious beliefs. “Bro, I don’t worship the f**king devil. I don’t know why y’all ni**as keep saying that sh*t” he said in a clip posted on social media. “I can’t wear all black? I’ve been wearing all black — that’s my thing!!! I just don’t get it.”
Trippie also pointed out the seeming hypocrisy among those attempting to pressure him into embracing Christianity, comparing their tactics to “bullying.”
“Cleanse these people heart, too, God. ‘Cause man, sitting here judging somebody and bullying them is the new standard. ‘Oh, let’s bully him into God.’ I already f**k with God, y’all ni**as weird.”
This isn’t the first time Trippie Redd has dealt with allegations of being a devil worshiper, as rapper Meek Mill also stamped the Saint Michael creator as such during a tirade against him on social media. “This guy no good!!!” Meek wrote on Instagram in November 2023 after being mentioned by Trippie. “Look like you repping the devil ima show how trying god is @trippieredd.”
The Dreamchaser continued to lay into Trippie, adding “He may worship the devil so all my god bodies watch this [pu**y]” while threatening violence against the hitmaker. While Trippie didn’t respond to those assertions, he has previously addressed those attempting to connect his branding and wardrobe to Satanism, as he explained his reasoning behind his usage of “666” during an interview in 2018.
“A lot of y’all are blind to reality,” he said at the time. “Six protons, six neutrons, six electrons. Melanin in black people’s skin. Do your research. Now, why I say TR666? Because Trippie Redd is black, but Trippie Redd is also dark. I make dark music, but I’m black, so I use it as a metaphor. Make sure you do your research, man, because these people could be telling you, like, 666 is the mark of the beast.”
Devil worship and Satanism has become a hot topic in Hip-Hop as of late, with multiple artists being accused of worshiping the devil, including Lil Nas X, Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert, Doja Cat, and more.
